MANCHESTER UTD WINS!!!

So, I don’t know much about sports. Fine.

Basically, I root for U of L, or I wait until the end of the season and pick a team based on something arbitrary (colors, which players look like they need more sympathy, my boss tells me too, etc). That’s when the games actually get exciting. And, theoretically at least, you have the top teams with the top athletes (especially in this hig-price game).

After my decision-making process, it is life or death. I, who didn’t support any of these teams until little more than 12 hours ago, get SO happy or SO upset when one of these teams I have chosen with the depths of my tiny heart wins or loses.

But luckily, I picked Manchester. And after much cursing, knee-slapping and squealing, Manchester United won. (This is also very convenient because this means my boss will be nice tomorrow).

This is my put-on smile for the commercials between the overtime and the shoot-off. I was actually really nervous, which is ridiculous. Natalie is putting on a smile to pretend I’m not annoying her with my cursing, knee-slapping and squealing.

I had a lot riding on this game (my pride, my sense of established luck, the quality of life in the newsroom), so I’m glad Manchester kicked a few shots to let me see another day.

Things I have learned:

-I should try lottery numbers or horse racing.

Answers I still seek:

-How come football players remind me so much of thoroughbreds?

GO RED,

Lindsey
